1-1 MENTORING

Finding a good mentor is tough, but finding a sensible male role model in today’s climate can be even more challenging.

When seeking out a new mentor to invest in, evaluate whether the past accomplishments of your possible new mentor would be suitable for you to have in life today.

Each year, Kain selects up to 5 purpose-driven individuals for 1-1 personal mentoring with him. Mentoring is challenging and will always be outcome-focused. While coaching might get you closer to your goals, Mentoring will always ensure that you have the personal support, insight and accountability that you need.

The more intimate a mentoring relationship is, the more fruitful it will be. Kain’s fee for mentoring won’t fit all budgets, which creates time and space for the select individuals who’ll benefit most from high-level input into their life, relationships and projects.

“Not everything can be learned from the internet. Sometimes the best way to advance is to learn directly from someone who knows – a mentor. Everyone has uncapped potential to become a remarkable leader and contribute hugely in their field of expertise.”

GROUP MENTORING

Kain’s interactive approach to providing group mentoring integrates group facilitation and one-on-one mentoring.

Everyone has unique knowledge, wisdom and insights. As you interact as part of a focused group of people, each with unique ideas, perspectives, and attitudes, you’ll become a better and more balanced version of yourself.

Collaborating with individuals who’ve already built something great in the world is the key to accelerating your personal and professional growth. Group mentorship draws practical wisdom and experience from out of life’s trenches.

Every year, up to ten individuals will be invited to join Kain in a focused mentorship group to leverage from a structured blend of teaching, mentoring and community. All people have blind spots, and mentoring will support you in understanding yourself better, which is crucial for those who are responsible for leading others.

Completing an application for 1-1 mentoring or group mentoring with Kain does not guarantee a place on the retrospective mentoring programme. Applicants should note that only high-quality applications will be entered into a final pool of candidates that Kain will select from. Some years, if the quality of mentorship group applicants is high, additional spaces may be created, but only if this is viewed to create additional value for all members within the group. Mentorship groups run from September through to August the following year. All group mentoring sessions take place on the first Wednesday of each calendar month for 12 consecutive months, and no holidays are taken apart from due to illness or major public holidays. All 1-1 mentoring sessions are scheduled at mutually agreed upon times.

MENTORS ARE KEY TO ONE’S PROGRESSION IN LIFE.

We all make mistakes, so receiving wise input from a mentor is vital for those who wish to avoid wasting time & money on unnecessary downfalls in their career, relationships or life (in general).

Mentors are crucial in today’s changing world to help emerging generations make wise decisions, learn from past generations’ mistakes, and navigate their challenges with wisdom & candour.

There’s no way to live your best life without wise counsel. Nobody knows or can see all of their faults. A good mentor will focus on your blind spots while encouraging your greatest potential.

A MAN’S CHARACTER IS SHAPED BY ACTIONS, NOT WORDS.

Mentorship is an art that becomes refined with age and through practice. As the years roll on, I hope to acquire only a fraction of the knowledge and wisdom that my mentors demonstrated.

Cpl Samual, thank you for teaching me discipline. Sgt Ralph, thank you for stretching my limits. Peter Hope, thank you for your inclusion – and for showing me what a husband and father can be.

AR. Bernard, your wisdom still astounds me. Matthew Newman, you gave structure to my thoughts. Gerard Egan, Rest in Peace and thank you for showing me the importance of leaving a legacy.

IT’S BOLD FOR A MAN TO SHARE OF HIS EXPERIENCE.

If a man in his older years has no wisdom or insight to invest in the next generation, he lived for a purpose that served little beyond himself. Those who benefit from a man’s wisdom are his legacy.

My wise mentors have guided me in the right direction, helping me navigate my way beyond the pitfalls I’ve ignorantly invited into my relationships, habitual thinking and professional pursuits.

The wisdom I’ve drawn from my mentors has served me well throughout life. Some of my best mentors I spent just hours or days with. My most revolutionary mentors are men I’ve never met.
